Andrea Sharaf is a freelance writer and editor based in San Francisco. She received her BA in English with an emphasis in writing from Biola University in Southern California. Andrea recently earned a Certificate in Editing from the UC Berkeley Extension, where she completed four courses running the gamut from good old-fashioned grammar to copyediting to developmental editing. Each class confirmed Andrea’s love of the English language and justified her nit-picky tendencies to point out misplaced apostrophes, misspelled words, and incorrect grammar. Andrea dreams that one day the thousands of grocery stores spanning our country will finally learn the difference between fewer and less.
Andrea has served as an editorial intern, writer’s assistant, marketing writer, blogger, and writing tutor and is a member of the Bay Area Editors’ Forum.
Not surprisingly, Andrea loves to read. She is currently working her way through Dorothy Sayers’ Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries and The Chicago Manual of Style, which she insists is actually interesting. You can follow her on Goodreads.
